The Cathedral of Alès regains its splendor
The prestigious restoration work on the Cathedral of Alès, which took more than two years, brought together four of our houses.
Atelier Arcoa was involved in the restoration of two paintings by Jean-Baptiste Regnault (1779) and Jean Bonvoisin (1779) as well as the removal of 4 paintings.
Atelier Mériguet-Carrère took charge of the restoration of the painted and gilded decorations of all the vaults and walls of the cathedral.
Socra carried out the restoration of the sculptures, the desalination of the stone and the restoration of the stucco stone decorations.
Finally, Vivian&Cie was responsible for the restoration of the stone claddings, floorings and plaster work, as well as the restoration of the altars and marble floors.
Atelier Mériguet-Carrère was awarded the Geste d’Or in the “Heritage” category last October for its work on this cathedral.
