Founded in 1997, Compagnons de Castellane specializes in the restoration of historical monuments and in the rehabilitation of old buildings.
It employs around forty highly qualified craftsmen to carry out restoration of traditional masonry, dressed stones and tiled roofs on architectural heritage buildings. The company is based in the Estaque district of Marseille, near the city of Castellane.
Its teams master ancestral techniques using old materials, such as stone cutting, sculpture, rubble masonry (‘limousinerie’), lime rendering, polychrome washes, etc., as well as contemporary methods such as architectural concrete, micro-scrubbing, laser cleaning, installation of fiberglass tie rods, underpinning, etc. It is capable of undertaking major projects throughout the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Its skills are recognized by its institutional and private clients.
